A brief update from Liana and Julie:
This past Sunday we had our monthly meeting. There we discussed upcoming fundraisers, called out any fears and or hesitations and talked about what we are looking forward to with this trip. We are excited to move forward and start to plan for our first group fundraiser this February, the Chili Cook off! (see below for flyer). Tickets will be sold by those attending this trip and between LaSalle church services.
If you are going on the trip: remember meetings are mandatory as are group fundraisers. Check with Julie and Liana if you are signed up and if you have NOT yet turned in a health consent form.
ALSO make sure you are signed up to bring a side dish for our Cook-off.

Welcome to the 2018 Service learning trip to El Salvador! Excited to get the ball rolling with you all. First and foremost, our dates for this years trip are July 5-12 2018! Mark your calendars, tell your friends, tell your parents- start praying!
Todays meeting we will go over a timeline of the next 8 months, including fundraisers, meetings, fundraising ideas and so much more!

Just a reminder we will be meeting this Sunday at 12:45pm in room 407 of the Cornerstone Center (located at 1111 N. Wells). We are excited to see you all! Amazing to think that in a LESS than two months we'll be boarding a plane to San Salvador.
With that in mind, please remember that we are each responsible for or share of the financial cost, $1,500. The total payment is due June 12 (3 weeks from Sunday)!! Please remember to bring your payments, donations, questions and passport information if you have not already.
And please reply to this email or tex us if you won't be able to make it to this meeting! Thank you!

If feels like forever since we have all been together. With that, just a reminder that our next meeting will be April 24th at Cornerstone, at 12:30! A mental checklist of you before showing up:
-is my passport updated/have I applied for a passport
-Have I paid my deposit/do I have another payment
-Have I sent out support letters/do I have donations to hand in
*This is a medical meeting, so be ready to hear from our Doctors about how we can better prepare our selves and what we will be bringing with us.

First, great job to everyone who participated in this last Sundays 2nd Annual Chili Cook off! It was a fun and successful afternoon! We brought in, as a team $1,150+ dollars!
With that, we would just like to remind you all that this Sunday is our scheduled monthly meeting. Please remember that these meetings are mandatory. It is best for everyone to be caught up on the information/and any or all changes that pertain to the trip!
This Sunday we will discuss the projects that we will be committed to working on while we are in El Salvador, and sending out our personal fundraising support letters.
Lastly, another reminder that we will be purchasing plane tickets soon- so we will need your deposits in ASAP!

Just a reminder that we need you! If you have not signed up to bring something to the El Salvador Chili cook off- now is the time to do so. Friends and family can also sign up to bring something. Please keep in mind we will all take part in setting up Leslie hall ONE HOUR before hand (11:30), we will make additional signs, set up tables and such. Leslie Hall is located on the first floor of the Cornerstone Center at 1111 N. Wells, Chicago, IL.
Also, it is now time for us to start purchasing airline tickets. However, we cannot buy your ticket until we have your $300 deposit. If you have not given us your deposit please do so immediately!!!

Liana and I (Colin) are so excited to announce our 2016 dates for our Learning Service trip: July 12-19.
Our first informational meeting will be December 6th in the room 407 of the Cornerstone Center, located at 1111 N. Wells St., Chicago, IL 60610. Our meeting will be at approximately 12:45pm (roughly 15 minutes after LaSalle's 11am service ends). All are welcome to attend who have an interest in the 2016 trip.
